Red Hill is proud to be part of the community of Chislehurst and we have a long tradition of being involved with local community events.

We also support the Chislehurst Rotary Club by allowing them to set up their fireworks on our site for Bonfire Night.

Red Hill always participates in the Chislehurst Society Environmental Studies Awards and many of our pupils have been awarded prizes. Below is our prize winning art work!

Chislehurst Rotary Club

The Chislehurst Rotary Club have always been very generous to Red Hill and we have enjoyed supporting them by singing at Christmas parties for the elderly and allowing them to use our field for their fireworks on Guy Fawkes night.

Church of the Annunciation

We are very fortunate to have enjoyed close ties to Father Paul Farthing and the church of Annunciation in Chislehurst.

It has been a tradition for our Year 6 pupils to take a Carol Service at the church at the end of the Autumn Term. Our children very much look forward to participating and our parents, governors, staff and friends enjoy attending.  It is a very special occasion and one of the highlights of the Red Hill calendar.

May Queen Parade

Red Hill has always been happy to have the May Queen dancers practising on its grounds during the late Spring. It is amazing how well they learn their complicated routines in such a short time. If any children wish to join the Retinue please contact the May Queen Society.

The Crowning Ceremony takes place on the first Saturday in May each year and has taken place in Chislehurst since 1923. On this day the May Queen and her retinue meet at Red Hill before parading along the High Street to Chislehurst Common. Many of our children take part either as Cubs, who are the May Queens Guard of Honour, Brownies who perform a country dancing routine or members of the May Queen retinue. In May 2007 we were delighted that for the first time for many years one of our own Year 6 pupils was crowned Chislehurst May Queen. The tea party was held at Red Hill and was a great success leading to us holding the tea party again in following years.

Chislehurst Wanderers

Chislehurst Wanderers Football Club uses our field on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings for their training sessions. If you would like to know how you can help to support the club or to find out about training for your child please contact:

Visit Chislehurst

Red Hill is proud to be part of the community of Chislehurst and we have a long tradition of being involved with local community events.  Our choir has enjoyed singing at the Chislehurst Christmas Lights Ceremony, as well as at Royal Parade.

In Chislehurst Town centre, two groups working hard to keep Chislehurst special are the Town Team and Chislehurst Business Groups.

The Town Team tackle High Street issues and work closely with London Borough of Bromley, and the Chislehurst Business Group sponsor the Christmas lights, host events, and manage Visit Chislehurst. Together, they aim to promote Chislehurst; attracting more visitors to the area and making it a destination of choice.

For further information, please feel free to contact them via the Visit Chislehurst website

Friends of Chislehurst & Walden Recreation Grounds

The Friends of Chislehurst & Walden Recreation Grounds is a volunteer group, formally inaugurated in March 2010, and working in partnership with the London Borough of Bromley’s officers, to preserve and enhance the environment of Chislehurst & Walden Recreation Grounds for the benefit of the local community. We want to improve and encourage greater use of the facilities by the community, (whilst discouraging anti-social behaviour). We warmly invite local residents, including the children, parents, staff and governors of Red Hill Primary School, to become members of the Friends’ Group and to participate in activities we organise within the park.

More information about becoming a member of the Friends’ Group and our activities can be found on our Facebook site www.facebook.com/focrg

We also welcome your ideas for activities you would like us to organise in the park, and your suggestions for any improvements to the existing facilities.

You can email us on info@focrg.org.uk
